What is EQAO?
EQAO is Ontario’s Education Quality and Accountability Office. Every spring, students in Grade 3 and Grade 6 take its provincial assessments in reading, writing and mathematics. Students usually complete them online, on a device at school, over several short sessions.
Schools choose the session schedule, so the best place for dates and details is your child’s school and eqao.com. Quizlings is not connected to EQAO. We write our own original questions so your child can get used to the style.
How Quizlings helps your child practise
- Grade 3 and Grade 6 EQAO practice in reading, writing and math, in the style of the provincial assessments.
- Easy, Medium and Hard levels. Each level has its own quizzes, so kids can start comfortably and work up. Each quiz has 25 questions.
- Every answer explained. In Practice mode your child sees the right answer and a short explanation after each question.
- Practice, Test or Games. Switch to Test to score a quiz at the end, or play it as a game for a change.
- Progress you can see. A free account keeps progress on every device, and parents can add their kids.
- Free, with no ads. It works in any browser, and you can add it to a phone or tablet home screen.

Show the answer
C, 24. There are 4 equal rows with 6 in each, so 4 × 6 = 24.
- 5
- 12
- 15
- 16
Show the answer
C, 15. Find 1/4 of 20 by dividing by 4, which gives 5. Then 3 of those parts is 3 × 5 = 15.
- Me and Sam went to the park.
- Sam and I went to the park.
Show the answer
B. Sam and I are the ones doing the action, so we use “I”. A quick check: you wouldn’t say “Me went to the park”.
Tips for practising at home
- Short and regular works well. Fifteen minutes a few times a week is easier to keep up than one long session.
- Read the explanation together after a wrong answer. The explanation is where the learning happens.
- Mix it up. Try a Practice quiz, then the same topic as a game.
- Keep it relaxed. Practice should help your child feel ready, not worried.
